Born in San Luis, Argentina. Juan Pablo spent his early childhood as a boy soprano, performing professionally in churches and formal events across Argentina while studying piano and electric guitar. After graduating high school in 2000, he moved to Santiago de Chile to study piano, music theory, and drums.
Returning to Mendoza, Argentina, he spent ten years studying under Gustavo Meli—winner of the 2001 Modern Drummer Weekend Contest and Director of the Mendoza International Drum Fest. In 2013, Juan Pablo moved to New York City to pursue drumming full time.
In NYC he studied at The Collective School of Music, working with Tobias Ralph, John Longstreth, and Lou Santiago Jr. He now performs at venues including City Vineyard and City Winery with Maestro Andrés Laprida, records at Cove City Sound Studios with TruthSeer, and gives lessons and hosts the Drummers Club Workshop at Funkadelic Studios. His playing spans rock, blues, rap, fusion, tango, and Brazilian music.
